Hello, we are running EE Version 5.0.29.p, I saw from a previous post that the order of Event Categories in EE-3 cannot be changed, that they only appear in the order they were created. If this is true still, then it seems that I would have to delete all the categories, and re-enter them in the order / hierarchy that I want them to appear. What I’m concerned about, is if I delete the existing categories, will this affect EITHER current active events AND/OR past events? Neither of those are a good option, since we may look to reference past events, based on a category search. I suppose for Active events, I could go in to each one and, re-add the appropriate categories.. |

This is correct, but just to confirm, you are referring to the order in the admin correct?
It will do yes, but in what way thinking they will be affected? IF (I don’t really recommend it) you go about doing this you would need to make sure your new category slugs matches the old ones so that any links to the previous slug continue to work (effectively replaced by the new ones) and you would need to make sure all events (include expired, current, upcoming). It’s messy! Doable but messy. What’s the end game for this? Why do you need to change the order? |
