I am about to purchase Event Espresso and need to know the following first:
1. Is EWay Payment Gateway supported?
2. what is the difference between the two EE3 EE4? How do I know which one to purchase.
3. We are developing a new WordPress Website using the Divi Theme and was advised to use Event Espresso as one of the best event plugins.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso.
1) Eway is supported in EE3, but is only supported in EE4 via the Mijireh gateway (https://eventespresso.com/topic/is-eway-supported-as-a-payment-gateway/)
2) The differences are fairly large in some areas, similar in others.
EE3 was the original plugin and while stable and still supported, only major bug fixes will be added from now on.
EE4 is the next generation of the plugin, built from the ground up. It’s still in active development, meaning while it is stable, new features, bug fixes and addons are being continuously added.

I would also suggest giving EE4 premium a test drive by visiting http://demoee.org – that way you can see for yourself if EE4 is suitable or not.
