Hi im running Events Espresso Decaf and testing the Paypal Payments with the sandbox environment. I understand the need for SSL on the sandbox environment and have got that sorted. I have also checked with the hosting provider that the hardware supports the new SHA-256 environments. Im however stuck with this error
IPN Validation failed! Paypal responded with ‘WP Error. Code: “http_request_failed”, Message: “SSL connect error”, Data: “”‘
i have setup the IPN in paypal pointing to the transactions page. and i have setup auto return that sends the user back to the thank you page.
What am i doing wrong here, i cannot seem to get this to work, going directly to the Live page to test is not a real option for me as we need to show this running in the sandbox first.

Hi Manvir,
That message is from the PayPal servers directly.
Please double-check with the web host again about more secure requirements that PayPal rolled out earlier this year.
