iphone app: events are showing as past, but they are upcoming (like in a month)

hello again – I (think) I’m doing well will my EE install and set up ๐Ÿ˜›
Spent a bit of time on ticketing today and found that on the iphone app my events display in the PAST section, not the upcoming. It does read Start Date (null) End Date (null) but the start date/time values are in the events settings (shows on the calendar correctly) and the timezone setting is set to my city – any ideas?
on another note – the QR reader/checkin app works a treat – well done guys! very professional ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi there,

I’m not sure why that would happen. Can you check the Date Time settings in WordPress Settings>General and let us know what they are set to? They’ll look something like this:

The other thing to check is that you have the latest mobile app and ticketing add-ons installed. If you’ve downloaded these within the last month, then you’re up to date. If they were downloaded prior to that, then you’ll need to update. The latest ticketing add-on can be downloaded from your account page, the mobile app api can be downloaded here, and the mobile app can be uploaded from the app store app.

Hi Josh,
Yes, city, date and time all correct in wordpress general settings.
I’ve just joined EE in the last 2 weeks so all versions are up2date ๐Ÿ™‚

The only clue I can offer is that the start and end dates are (null) in the app, however they are set in the event settings (picture provided) as they display on the calendar correctly.

event time input in the event settings

thanks so much ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi there,

I’d like to know what the time date settings that you are using are so I can investigate further. Can you post a screenshot of these? Also, it might be a good idea to rule out any plugin conflicts by temporarily deactivating any non-EE plugins.

Thanks for your reply Josh,
The only plug in I’m using (which I deactivated and the error continued) was Contact Form 7

I noticed something looking at your screenshot of the event dates, see my modified version of your screenshot:

dates

See what’s going on? The date for the reg times is in UTC standard YYYY-MM-DD format, but the dates for the event times are in a different format. The reason the dates are coming up (null) in the app is probably because it’s trying to figure out what the 2013th day of February in the year 1 is.

Did you enter these dates manually or did you use the datepicker? My guess is if you used the datepicker it should format the dates correctly. A quick fix would be to either use the datepicker or just edit the dates to YYYY-MM-DD format.

Hi Chris
Thanks so much – you were right! I went back in and make sure I used the date picker and now it displays correctly in the iphone app ๐Ÿ™‚
Interesting that the visual calendar on the website will work with either date format.
Thanks again – you’re all so awesome with your support ๐Ÿ™‚
