IP anonymization

Hello

Please could you let me know whether EE Version 4.9.75.p is anonymizing users’ IP addresses now? I can see in the change log that there was an enhancement for this in May 17, 2018 Event Espresso 4.9.62.p. If so, does this now mean that EE 4 anonymizes IP addresses and so is GDPR compliant in that respect?

Hi Dee,

Yes, it does. One important part of this is your site needs to be updated to at least WordPress 4.9.6. This is because Event Espresso uses the supplied functions from WordPress, like wp_privacy_anonymize_ip, and these functions were added in WordPres 4.9.6.
