IOS event espresso app not connecting

I have downloaded the event espresso app on two iphone and one android device. The android device logs in fine whereas the iphone apps keep throwing out “the server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server” I have tried editing the htaccess file from the troubleshooting guide and all other work arounds i have come across in the forums. Any help would be appreciated. Using the latest version of wordpress and latest version of wordpress ios app

You can try installing the WordPress REST API log plugin to get a more detailed error message from when the iOS app tries to connect to your website:
