OK, having a weird problem that I can’t explain and am under a crunch. We are having intermitent problems with submitting registrations and there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Some people have no problem submitting. Some people click submit and nothing happens. Page doesn’t change to the registration confirmation page. It happens under different browsers at different locations. Can’t see any commonalties. Running EE 3.1.28.5.P and WordPress 3.4.2. Domain is hallelujahchristmas.com. |
Hi Tony, You might try ruling out plugin and theme conflicts. One thing I’m noticing is that you can consistently submit the registration form without filling anything out. This doesn’t happen when I test Event Espresso on a standard WP theme like twentytwelve. You can actually test another theme without switching the theme on the front end by using the theme test drive plugin |

You are right about the blank submission problem. That doesn’t happen when I switch to a standard theme, so it looks like it may be a theme issue. I am using the Elegant Themes Gleam theme. How can I find out what the problem is and fix it. |

Definitely a theme. Switched to a more basic theme and the problems seem to have gone away. The Elegant Themes people say that the Gleam theme uses a lot of jquery libraries and code that might be incompatible with EE. Is this something that might be able to be resolved easily? It not and I purchase a support token, what are the chances of being able to find it and resolve it in a short amount of time? I know I might be asking questions you won’t know the answer to, but this site is for a church and they are probably not going to want to spend a lot of money to fix this with this particular theme. |
Hi Tony, I’m looking at the source of the page and I don’t think the cause of this issue is the theme in of itself. It looks like the JavaScript errors are coming from the widget content. Specifically the “cause.com” widget. It looks like the widget content’s JavaScript wasn’t written with WordPress coding standards in mind. Since it doesn’t look like you can modify this (it’s being served from their Content Delivery Network) you could disable this widget for all the pages that handle the registration pages. You can use the widget logic plugin to conditionally load widgets without modifying the theme’s page templates. |
