Hi,
I’m looking for an event management plugin and Event Espresso seems great.
I’m building a website that need to do the following:
-User can register as members and choose their interest (example: rock, hip-hop, jazz, etc.)
-When they go to the My Event page, the page only show the events based on the user interest.
Is this something that is possible to do with Event Espresso?
If it’s possible does it require any php skills ? I’m good for all the html and css work, but I’m not a developer, so if I need to hire a php developer to make Event espresso work like this, would it be a big job?

By default, Event Espresso doesn’t create memberships, etc. So you will need to create a system that handles creating memberships and also allows you to attach custom user data to the member profiles. There may be a few WordPress plugins available to handle this aspect.
The second part may require a little more programming, as you will need to build a custom “My Events” page that runs custom queries to events based on the selected category in their user profile.

Thank you, I think with wp-types Toolset I’ll be able to do all this.
I have another question about the ticket addons. My site will be a tool for bands to help them produce their events. Is it possible to give an acces to each band to produce their own tickets without giving them a administator acess to my wordpress dashboard ?

Hi Philippe,
You could use the WordPress and Event Espresso capabilities system, along with a Roles plugin to create a role that gives users access to only certain parts of your website admin.
