Presales questions for interactive seating plan addon:
I want to buy the developer version, mainly for the seating layout addon. My client runs a marketplace and needs stallholders to be able to book stalls at multiple venues in an automated way. I have told them it will be like booking an airline ticket and choosing your seat.

Seating Plan:
Can an image be the background for my layout so that when people select a seat they see the map of the venue in the background (e.g. see fire exits etc) and seat/table/stall numbers. I noticed there is an option to add PNG/jpg but this seems to be separate from the excel based booking form.

Key features required
1. !!! Seating plan
2. !!! Set reservation time (e.g. 30minutes, to prevent a second person booking the same spot)
3. Refund feature (i.e. refund for entire event if it is cancelled)
4. Handle AUD currency and include taxes in checkout
5. Paypal integration of course is included

Optional feature:
I am also wondering if I can resell the product with the feature of charging a commission or flat fee per booking to my client? This could allow me to offer the product to them for free, but make ongoing profit from their sales.

By the way, I have one more question based on https://eventespresso.com/topic/need-some-help-to-understand-the-layout-process/

is there a way to show who’s occupying what seat? or at least the name of that seat (apart froma separate gif/png)

With some CSS customization and some delicate handling of the spreadsheet for the seating chart data, you may be able to pull this off, but it would be very tricky getting a premade image to align exactly with the seating chart data with just CSS. (Not impossible, just very difficult.)

Refund feature (i.e. refund for entire event if it is cancelled)

Currently the only way to cancel a booking is via the WP User Integration add-on. Even then, no funds are actually refunded as that needs to happen through the gateway.

That was a configuration issue, as far as I could tell. The confirmation page for his events was being skipped so the seats were being automatically confirmed, therefore they were not releasing after an hour. Default behavior is for the seat to be held for an hour and, if the registration is not completed by then, the seat will free up for someone else to use.

At this time, seats can only have one price, but you can set the price for the seats to be different (meaning, all the seats don’t have to have the same price, but they can’t have one price for General Admission and another price for Seniors or Children). That said, with WP User Integration, members (WordPress users) will get a discounted price, so, technically speaking, the seats have 2 prices — one for regular (logged-out) users and one for members (logged-in users).

This is not possible with the core code at this time.

You might be able to do it with some custom development but otherwise, no, this is not a supported feature.
