Hi! I would like to be able to track all of my event bookings with Google Analytics’ ecommerce tracking, and will be using Stripe as my payment gateway.

I found this post: https://eventespresso.com/topic/include-google-analytics-ecommerce-tracking/

Are you able to advise which plugin the recommended code should go in? Or is there another plugin or extension available to help facilitate this tracking?

Kind regards, Erica.

Hi Erica,

The code from the other topic was actually only recommended for development purposes, it does not add Google Analytics ecommerce tracking. Currently Event Espresso 4 does not have this feature set, but they are tracking interest to build something:

Thanks Josh. Presumably I can use Google Analytics Goal tracking (destination page) to track registrations though?

Hi,

I’m not sure how that would work. Would that involve adding tracking code to the Thank You page?

With Destination Page goals you can just classify the Goal as a view of a specific page based on the URL, so no code needs to be added.

So if all registrations are completed on the /thank-you page for example, we can set that automatically each unique view of that page indicates an event registration.

You can create funnels as well, so a series of pages that must be viewed in order before the Goal is triggered, to prevent any other accidental views being classed as Goal completions.

I’ll have a play around and let you know if it works.

By default all registrations are completed on the /thank-you page, but that is changeable through the settings in Event Espresso > General Settings > Critical pages. So it’d be a good idea to check there to verify which page is set for the Thank You page.
