I searched around the forums some but I’m not really sure how to phrase my question succinctly enough..sorry if a similar issue has already been resolved and I could not find.
As it stands, website in question tracks/displays “events” which are instances of “classes” (both custom post types). Each event references a class and also contains information for time and date of the class.
I need to offer site visitors an option from the event page to sign up and pay. The event coordinator needs to access a list of attendees, payment status, and close registration once the attendee limit has be reached.
My initial impression of event espresso is that it relies on events to be created separately from anything existing on the site (that is, can not use the existing custom post type). I am hoping there is a way to have event espresso integrate with the existing site format. Is this possible?
Thank you for reading, please let me know if more details would help you characterize my problem.
Thanks for contacting us. I think I understand what your’re looking to do. In this case, Event Espresso would not map over to your current CPT set up because Event Espresso has one post type for events. It doesn’t have a second post type for classes.
That said, if you’re looking to mimic the overall look and feel of the current site with Event Espresso 4 that may be possible. It would depend on how your current set up differs with out of the box Event Espresso and how much time you can set aside with customizing Event Espresso’s templates.
