After having installed ( what seemed a successful ) installation of the Event Espresso on a test site, i then proceeded to install on the live server, and got an error message like this:

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists. /homepages/27/d202785240/htdocs/l4all/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/

Plugin install failed.

I attempted to uninstall from the test site, and re-install on the live site..and got the same message.

Can you – or anyone kindly advise a very frustrated individual..

Hi,

Generally this occurs when you already have a version of event espresso on the site, most likely an older copy or a copy of the free version. This happens because the folder names are the same. Either remove any previous versions or using FTP rename the folder (though we do recommend removing any versions that are not in use to reduce conflict issues).

Hi Dean,

The upload went through , however could not be activated due to a ‘fatal error’ :
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /homepages/27/……./wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/class/espresso_log.php on line 13

Do you know what this means and how it could be resolved?

Appreciate any help on this ..
