Im trying to install EE4 on my WordPress platform. Its completely updated but Im getting this error. I previously used EE3. Its been deactivated but not removed.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/83/10656283/html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/espresso.php on line 231
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,
Usually, that error means your using an older version of PHP which will need to be updated.
Do you know which version of PHP is running on the server?
If you have EE3 currently active you can find the version in Event Espresso -> System Status.
Then search for ‘PHP Version’.

Im hosting through GoDaddy. Ill see if I can get them to update.

We recommend updating to PHP 7 or greater.
