I have the business licence version of Event Expresso. I have set up the InfusionSoft Integration. I have added a Question (being Organisation Name) and linked this to the Personal Information Category. My question is I need to have this information passed through, as part of the Contact Information,  to InfusionSoft. Will this happen? If not I’m assuming I’m then going to have to download the excel spreadsheet and import and update the contacts in InfusionSoft with the relevant fields using their e-mail address and first and last name as the identifiiers. I’m assuming that information like Registration Code can not be added as a tag to the InfusionSoft Contact record, as this would be way of grouping group registrations.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

We don’t have the ability to pass custom question information to Infusionsoft at this time. I will be looking at ways to do this when I have more time.

The registration code cannot be added to the Infusionsoft Contact record as a tag, because the tags need to be created in Infusionsoft first, then they can be assigned to an event. I have documented this information here:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/infusionsoft-addon/#tags

Mike,

I am looking at the API for the custom fields (http://help.infusionsoft.com/developers/tables/dataformfield) and it looks like we may be able to come up with some type of integration with custom fields, but I would like to get your thoughts on how this should work exactly.

It looks like you have to create the custom fields before we can map the data to them. So, do you think it would help if I created a way for you to map the Infusionsoft custom questions to the Event Espresso custom questions using a filter that can be added to your theme or custom functions file?

Hi Seth,I just replied to your last post, and funnily enough mentioned that as one particular option.

In the other apps I’ve used, you always have to create the custom fields you want to map to in InfusionSoft first. That is a standard approach. That’s how Ever Green Business Systems integrate with IS with their automated webinar system etc.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Seth,

One other thought I had, which would be really powerful for IS integration. Would be with the custom questions, where you can put a Tag id against the question value, so that if question is answered with value “x” apply tag id 1612 (which is a tag in infusionsoft that had already been created), if answer equals “z” apply tag id 1836, etc. That would be really powerful with some of your drop downs or radio functionality. And this is used a lot within InfusionSoft with webforms to get around using custom fields, where you only had a 100 custom fields.  So you can use a drop down or radio buttons and apply tags based on their selection, and that tag can then be used in the campaign builder to fire off sequences etc, and none of that requires using a custom field, where you have the limit of only a 100.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Mike

That makes sense. I actually started working on some examples, last night, that will show you how to save answers to questions, in Event Espresso, as custom fields in the attendee contact record, at Infusionsoft. I could probably come up with another similar example showing how to do it with tags.

Okay. I created an example of how to add custom tags to the contact record that is created. I will need to post an update to the add-on before I post the example. Hopefully I can get those up later tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Mike,

I posted an example of how to implement conditional tagging here:

Hi Seth,

Is there a way to pass additional information to InfusionSoft fields? I have setup a text field in Questions called Organisation, and I’m wanting to pass that information to InfusionSoft when they register. This obviously is not a custom field in InfusionSoft, but one of their main fields.

I was wondering if there is way to map some of the standard information in Event Espresso to InfusionSoft by providing the IS field id it is to map to in InfusionSoft.

Thanks, Mike

Just wrote this up:

Please let me know if it helps or not.

Hi Seth,

Thanks for that.

The only question I had with the posting, is where is the reference to the IS standard field? I see the reference to Espresso Field, which I think is “SINGLE_48" in your example.

However, I did not understand where this maps to the IS field you want to make it too (or is that done via this part "espresso_infusionsoft_save_extra_fields"

Thanks, Mike

Hi Seth,

Thanks, was I right in terms of where you insert the InfusionSoft field name?

Thanks, Mike

Hi Seth,

All sorted, got it working so that it pulls through Company, and Job Title.

Awesome. Thanks, Mike

Thanks Mike.

I just updated the documentation for that:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/infusionsoft-addon/#custom_fields

Do you mind reading it over really quick to see if it makes sense?

Hi Seth,

Thanks. The only thing I would add in is in the paragraph “How do I find the standard field names in Infusionsoft?I would just add in a sentence to say. “In the example below I’ve used “Website” as the standard InfusionSoft field to be updated. You would replace this field with the name for the appropriate InfusionSoft field you wish to update using the table link provided.”

That might make it more understand for any novices like me.

Thanks, Mike
