Hi, I am considering a support license for one of my accounts. They currently use EE Decaf (lite) and I’m trying to convince them to go with a paid license so we have support. We’ve had a lot of problems with theme conflicts in the past. They want me to rebuild their site using a them they found on ThemeForest called “Increase”. Are there any known conflicts with this theme? Also, if we purchase EE4 and use the Increase theme, would support be able to help us resolve any conflicts?

Hi Alison,
We have not had any reports of a conflict with that theme from our users, however we do not have a copy of the theme so have not run any testing on that theme at all.
Also, if we purchase EE4 and use the Increase theme, would support be able to help us resolve any conflicts?
We will try our best to help with any conflicts that come up, however it depends heavily on what the theme is actually doing and what the conflict is. For example if the theme is adding javascript that causes problems on our event editor we can usually provide a small snippet to prevent that javascript loading on our page which will fix it. What we can not do is re-write the theme to work around the weird and wonderful things some themes do 🙂
So as much as I’d love to say we can work through any conflicts, it really does depend on what the theme is doing. We can often help work through most issues, but some may require the purchase of a support token.
Having said that my intention is not to scare you away from purchasing a theme (or Event Espresso for that matter) generally speaking we can work through most issues, its just that we provide support for Event Espresso and not the theme. We are more than happy to take a look but I just want to be clear that sometimes the answer may well be to contact the theme author as there is not much we can do from our side 🙂
