Hello Event Espresso:
Hope you’re having a great week so far.
I’m writing to report a problem that I’m having with multiple registrations and incorrect totals on PDF invoices.
We are selling season subscriptions to a concert series and when someone purchases two for $210.00 ($105 each), the amount displayed on the PDF invoice is displayed as $420.00.
We’ve checked our Paypal accounts and these invoices are being recorded correctly ($210.00 instead of $420.00). Upon verifying with our customers, the transactions are being recorded correctly on their end as well.
Everything functions normally for single subscription purchases
We are using WordPress 3.5.2, Event Espresso 3.1.33.3, MER 1.0.4, Recurring Events 1.1.7.1
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Best regards,

Marcus

sorry, I forgot to add some more information: the total on the PDF invoice is correct. However, when the balance is paid through Paypal, the amount paid is doubled. Thanks!

Best,
Marcus

Hi there,

Are there any caching plugins installed and if so, are the pages that handle the registration and payments set to not be cached? Most caching plugins will have an advanced settings area that will let you disabled caching for specific pages, which can be done to avoid problems like payment amounts getting doubled.

Also, I’m a bit confused about which of the two scenarios is actually happening here.

Is it this:

We are selling season subscriptions to a concert series and when someone purchases two for $210.00 ($105 each), the amount displayed on the PDF invoice is displayed as $420.00.
We’ve checked our Paypal accounts and these invoices are being recorded correctly ($210.00 instead of $420.00). Upon verifying with our customers, the transactions are being recorded correctly on their end as well.

or is it this:

the total on the PDF invoice is correct. However, when the balance is paid through Paypal, the amount paid is doubled.

Can you clarify which of the two reports is accurate?

Hello Josh:

Thanks so much for getting back to me about this. I really appreciate it!

I apologize for not being clear in my post. In regards to the two reports, the second one is accurate:

“the total on the PDF invoice is correct. However, when the balance is paid through Paypal, the amount paid is doubled.”

Also, we do not have any caching plugins installed on our site.

Is this PayPal standard or PayPal Pro that’s in use?

Hello Josh:

Our client is using PayPal Standard, not Pro.

So to clarify, the invoice is correctly totaling the price at $210, but PayPal is charging a different amount? Is it possible to post a link to the registration page where this is happening so we can look into this further?

I am having similar issues – When someone contacts us to change their registration and there is a difference in what they already paid, we add on the difference that they owe and send out an invoice, the link in the invoice points to the original price, not the difference.

Hi Peter,

This sounds like a different issue in that it has to do with applying partial payments, which Event Espresso’s invoice feature does not currently support. Please start a new thread and we’ll try to see what we can do to help you with this one.
