It appears that I have a pretty significant issues. I am currently using Event Espresso – 3.1.28.3.P. When I export an excel file from an event the first and last name are all identical in excel file.

Also, while the names appear to be correct for each registration within an event when I attempt to edit a specific individual record; the same individual record continues to display in the editor window, even as I select other individuals within the same event or other events. Please advise my next step.

Update- After manually re-installing version 3.1.28.3P via FTP the excel export feature appears to be working correctly. Exported files have the correct names.

However, when attempting to edit an individual record within the event espresso plugin the same record continues to show regardless of which individual I attempt to update.

Hi Jeremy,

I am sorry that you’re having troubles with the recent update. Can you let us know if this site was running version 3.1.28.1.P at any time before updating to 28.3?

We’d also like to ask for permission to look at the admin area of the site. If this is possible, can you send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Please select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

Thank you Josh for your quick response. We were running 3.1.28.1.P before upgrading to 28.3.

Login credentials have been sent.

Hey Jeremy —

Thanks for sending in your info. Do you have (or can you get) a database backup from before you updated to .28.1? The changes have, unfortunately, already been written to the database, so without a backup, there isn’t any way to get that data back. The issue has been resolved in .28.3 but not before all your attendees have had the attendee_answers table set to the same one attendee. I can export the content of the main attendee table, but since that’s basically the same data you’re getting from the csv export in the Event Espresso backend, I don’t really see much use for it at this time. If you have or can get a SQL dump from before you installed .28.1 we can at least update the attendee information that was overwritten between then and the .28.3 update.

I’ve extended your license 6 months for the lost data and being patient with us while we try to correct the issue. If you can get a copy of the db, please let us know and we’ll tell you where to send it.

I was able to download a backup of our SQL database from Saturday night. I also have a backup from last night (Tuesday) but, I am not sure if the data had already been overwritten before then? Could you please instruct me on my next steps? Will entries to the database after the .28.3 update be saved?

This is very frustrating!

Chris, would you please be able to update me on an expected timeline for your response? I am looking for the next step in restoring from an earlier backup. Thanks!

Hi Jeremy,

If you can send us a copy of the database, we can assist you with updating the attendee information that was overwritten between that point and the .28.3 update.

Please send this to support @ eventespresso.com

Same issue, yet again, here. I honestly don’t even know what to do at this point, this is destroying our registration process so thoroughly.

I emailed my SQL database backup over 6 hours ago based on the instructions in this thread. When can I expect a response?

Hi Jeremy,

I haven’t seen anything like this come in. I checked the spam folder too. Can you please try re-sending?

Chris,

Thank you for your help in restore the files. I now have a new problem. Our database is not recording our custom questions into the database. When I click on a specific entry and the attendee window opens no data is shown. Is this a new issue or related to your database restore? I desperately just need this database to work. After restoring the database we opened our event registration again after extending our deadline and apologizing to our groups and now it appears we have another significant issue. Please respond as soon as possible.
