I have followed all the steps, and read a lot of posts…..completely frustrated at this point!

IPN is enabled and I entered the www address provided in one of the posts I found (distrubed that it was not included in the instructions in setting up ipn through the plugin)…http://www.bluetopmarketing.com/transactions/

The shortcodes are where they’re suppose to be.

I am not in sandbox mode

I did not activate https

Attempted to upload the simplified transaction page template – didn’t work.

My paypal account is a business account and is verified.

This has never worked for me. I need to know if it’s possible otherwise I will have to go back to Eventbrite and swallow my losses.

Any step-by-step advice would be appreciated.

(i have membership through s2member and concerned that now that i have changed the ipn address, that will turn into a manual process as well.)

Thank you,

Stephanie

Stephanie,

I see that you have WP Super Cache installed. This could cause problems with not only transactions in Event Espresso, but also other ecommerce type plugins. You need to set all Event Espresso related pages to not be cached.

I went in and told the plugin not to cache pages. Didn’t work.

Went in and deactivated the plugin. Didn’t work.

Hi Stephanie,

You can change the IPN listener address to what you had set up before for S2. Event Espresso sends its own IPN listener address for to PayPal for the transactions it handles.

I checked the transactions page on your site and it may indeed help to get that simplified transactions template installed and set up for this page. This way all the social media buttons won’t try to load when PayPal sends an IPN. When you tried to install it into the theme’s directory was there an error message?

I uploaded the txn zip file to the diarise theme folder:  public_html/wp-content/themes/diarise

When I go to the transaction page, and over to the right side under page attributes and the drop-down under templates does not show a TXN or Transaction option. Only:  Archives, Blog, Booking form, Contact form, Full Width, Image Gallery, Redirect, Sitemap

Hi Stephanie,

Im sorry if this overly silly of me, but did you extract the zip contents and upload those or just upload the zip? If the latter then the actual contents need to be uploaded otherwise the plugin cant read the files.

Once done, the Page template is called “txn page”

Re-uploaded only the txn php file. On the transactions page, changed to TXN template in page attributes. 30 minutes later when to event, registered and paid through Paypal – back on my site with the incomplete symbol.

Hi Stephanie,

It might help if we can take a look at the IPN log on the server. Can you send temporarily admin and FTP credentials via our contact form -or- download the paypal IPN log file and email it to support at eventespresso.com? The PayPal IPN log file can be found in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs.

If you can send temporary log in credentials, please send them via the contact form on this page:

Hi Stephanie,

I checked and there isn’t a log file for the PayPal IPN on your server, but I think I found what’s causing the issue: The Bad Behavior plugin is installed. By default this will block the cURL request from PayPal. There’s a settings panel for the Bad Behavior plugin that you can go into and configure it to allow the communication from PayPal’s site. You’ll likely need to add PayPal’s IP address to the list of allowed connections.

Here are a few references that will help:

Update: I followed your latest message. Whitelisted 4 addresses for Paypal in the BadBehavior plugin.

IT WORKS! Thank you so much for you time and patience with this, I really appreciate it!

Thanks!
