I have been creating 10 events and didn’t get many problems. Sometimes when I was publishing a new event, I encountered an error 500. I was in fact duplicating events, not changing the tickets.

Now I want to create a new kind of event and new ticket. Unfortunatly, I can create the event, put a name and that’s about it. I can not write anything in text or visual, I can not change the tickets.

Not long before that I was able to edit it, but when I was publishing afet changing the ticket it went to an 500 error…

Hi there,

It sounds like an issue with the host but may also be a plugin conflict.

The error 500 we need more details on.

Do you have access to the server errors logs? If you have cPanel or similar you will usually have a section to view errors. Error 500 usually means a fatal error is being thrown but the full error has not been displayed, we need the full error to know what the problem is.

Now I want to create a new kind of event and new ticket. Unfortunately, I can create the event, put a name and that’s about it. I can not write anything in text or visual, I can not change the tickets.

This sounds like a plugin conflict, have you recently installed on new plugins/updates and notice this then started happening?

To rule out a theme/plugin conflict you can run through the theme and plugin conflict steps here:

Hello, I have been contacting my host to sort the problem. It seems that one of my pluggin is not liking very much liking wordpress 4.8 , it seems to me it is event expresso.

For now I am back to a previous version of wordpress that seems to work. However I encoutered a new problem. When I create or edit an event, if I modify the a ticket (changing name, changing price, or deleting it) I run into an error when I publish the site :

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function start_date_and_time() on null in /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php:489 Stack trace: #0 /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php(283): espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks->_update_tickets(Object(EE_Event), Array, Array) #1 /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/admin_pages/events/Events_Admin_Page.core.php(1012): espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks->datetime_and_tickets_caf_update(Object(EE_Event), Array) #2 /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/admin/EE_Admin_Page_CPT.core.php(929): Events_Admin_Page->_insert_update_cpt_item(1026, Object(WP_Post)) #3 /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(524): EE_Admin_Page_CPT->insert_update(1026, Object(WP_Post), true) #4 /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-include in /home4/bucketp9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php on line 489

I have been following the pluggin troubleshooting but right now the only pluggin on are event espresso core, calendar and chailmimp

Which specific version number of Event Espresso 4 are you using?

The latest version of Event Espresso has no problem with 4.8, there are thousands of sites using EE on 4.8 without any problems.

The above error means there is an issue creating datetimes on your site.

With the above setup, are you using one of the default themes such as twentyseventeen? (So only the above plugins AND a default theme)

Hello Tony, thank you for your answer.

Right now I am running :
I am using a paid Theme from Think Up Themes Ltd. called Experon Pro 1.6.13
WordPress Version: 4.6.6

PHP Version: 7.0.12

MySQL Version: 5.6.32

Event Espresso Version: 4.9.43.p

and it is working, but as soon as I update wordpress to 4.8 I got the not editing issues back.
I also found a way to avoid the error I copied before, by deleting all the default ticket. When I do that I can finally create new one without causing errors.

Hmm, ok.

Rather than multiple back and forth questions can I take a quick look within the admin?

If so you can send temporary login details using this form:

Hello Tony,

by deleting the default ticket, I think I have sorted the problem.
