Hi,
for a possible new client i want to use this plugin.
After reading my conlusion is that i best start with EE4.
But…i NEED the iDEAL Dutch online payment (Off-site) processor to work!

For EE3 this works through Mollie (which i have a account for), but they only support Woocommerce themselves, and WP Eshop and WPSC (shopping cart) through a third party company.

So, how exactly is iDEAL supported for EE3?
And how difficult/easy is it to get it to work for EE4?
Where should i address this question, EE or Mollie or third party company?

Thanks!

Ronald

Hi,

So, how exactly is iDEAL supported for EE3?

We have used the API to create the gateway. We support the EE iDEAL gateway, unless it is an account issue in which case we may refer you to iDEAL directly.

And how difficult/easy is it to get it to work for EE4?

Very difficult. You would need to write a new gateway for iDEAL for EE4. We are currently working on expanding the gateways for EE4, however I cannot advise which gateways will be supported and which wont.

Where should i address this question, EE or Mollie or third party company?

Basically if it is regarding the EE implementation of an iDEAL gateway, you need to direct it to us or a third party developer should you wish to get a gateway developed on your own (we generally don’t recommend this, and also as the plugin is in Beta, code changes are very likely to happen, so anything developed by a third party would need to be maintained regularly).

Hi Dean,
so in order to get iDEAL to work for EE4 i can do a feature request for this gateway…which will probably put me on the bottom of the stack since this is only a gateway for the Netherlands 🙁

The other option would likely be to sponsor the implementation of the iDEAL gateway by you. That’s probably not going to happen, but if it would, could you give a ballpark figure?!

Thanks,
Ronald

Hi Ronald,

Can you check the list of gateways on this list and let us know if any of them are viable alternatives?

Hi Josh,
i know only 1 on that list…and they won’t even show prices, you know what that means 😉
A quick look at the others showed me that they basicly charge the same: 2,95% + 0,28 € or anywhere around that.
Where’s Mollie charges €0.99 per transaction…no other fees.
My client organizes 4-day training events which cost €1250.
Thats around €35 vs €1…a no-brainer.

So, to answer your question: No.

I’d rather start with trying to implement Mollie, as you’ve allready did that with EE3.

Thanks,
Ronald
