I would appreciate any and all tips on how to change the look of my events. Can you please come to my aid? Thank you, Toby |
Hi Toby, The Tango Club is using CSS to style their events. Some of the CSS style may have been added to the theme or a custom CSS file. We have some built in styles that you can use without CSS knowledge. You can use these from within the WP Admin > Event Espresso > Template Settings > Stylesheet Options page. I would recommend using the Themeroller Styles. Hope that helps.

Hi Seth, Thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate it since this is my very first interaction with WordPress and Event Espresso. I thought that The Tango Club might be using CSS maybe via a custom CSS file which I woul like to learn more about, however, I am seriously considering your recommendation the built in styles using Themeroller but I experienced a few hiccups. Here’s what happened – First, since the installation of Event Espresso I’ve been getting a plugin update icon indicator and when I go to update WP says all plugins are update! The other issue is that in the Event Template Settings there are no fields available in front of ThemeRoller Styles instead it says that Default style sheet is Smoothness. When I click on the question mark icon where the filed is supposed to be it takes me to ThemeRoller Style Settings where I’m instructed that: “Event Espresso will automatically load the “wp-content/event-espresso/templates/css/themeroller/themeroller-base.css” (or the “wp-content/uploads/espresso/themeroller/themeroller-base.css”) but these directories aren’t exactly correct! the way my directories look are: wp-content/PLUGINS/event-espresso/templates/css/themeroller/themeroller-base.css so I stopped right there. I don’t know if I should trust the instruction or what? I’m really getting confused with this plugin. My experience with the other plugins has not been quite as complex as this one, however, I understand that this is a highly specialized plugin and I have little to no experience. In any event, I would appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks, Toby |
So you are not seeing this at all? |

No Seth! All I get is this…. |
Hi Cheyl, Check to see if the themeroller files are in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/css. There should be a folder named themeroller in that location. You might try uploading and installing a fresh copy of Event Espresso from the account page. Also, I would not recommend having copies of all the template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates as this can create a lot of maintenance work after the plugin is updated. The best practice is to only copy the templates over to that location that need to be modified. See this guide for more info:https://eventespresso.com/wiki/put-custom-templates/ |

Hi Josh, Thanks for your help. Installing the fresh copy of Event Espresso from the account page took care of the issue I was having with getting a plugin update icon indicator. however, my template etting page looks exactly the same as last screen shot I sent you. Please let me know how I can resolve this as we’re getting very close to our live date and Event Esprsso is the only plugging that is reacting this way. Thanks for your time and attention.
