Hi there,

Do you have the JSON API Add-on installed and activated on your site?

Did you update the apps from the old non HD version to ‘Event Espresso HD’?

If you go to Dashboard -> Plugins.

Do you see the ‘Event Espresso API Plugin’ listed there? Like this – http://take.ms/DgYUK

No, there is no ‘Event Espresso API Plugin’ listed there 🙁 I tried to add it via add new plug-in but it asks for FTP login credentials which we don’t have. How can I find it? should I add this ‘Event Espresso API Plugin’ via plug-in to be able to scan tickets?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi, the JSON API add-on is needed for the mobile apps to work. They help with communication between the mobile apps (Android, iOS) and your WordPress site.

You can get a copy of the JSON API add-on here:

https://eventespresso.com/users/youngdelft/#ee3-downloads

It does need to be installed via WordPress Plugins or manually via SFTP or FTP.

It sounds like your site is asking for credentials to install the plugin. Does a member of your team have those credentials?

For FTP details you’ll need to contact your hosting provider.

However that message indicates a problem with the WordPress installation.

Its possible that PHP running as the apache user (mod_php or CGI) rather than the user that owns your WordPress files.

Can you upload media to your site?

Go to Dashboard -> Media -> Add new. Try uploading an image file, does it fail?

If so you have incorrect permissions setup on your host.

Either way I would recommend contacting your host to have them fix this correctly.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately no one from our team knows about the FTP credentials! it was quite long time ago when someone installed plug in and now the team is completely changed. Do you know where should I contact to find this info?

Hi, your web host would have that information available.

Could you try opening a support ticket with them? Let them know that your team has changed — you may need to verify the account by answering some questions but they should be able to help you create that login information.

Do you have access to cPanel or similar from your hosting provider?

Also, which version of WordPress are you currently running?

Dear Tony,
I checked it, yes I can upload file in Media.
I will contact our IT staff for FTP info. After having that I will come back to you if I still couldn’t get login by mobile Apps.
BTW, our wordpress version is also Old: V 1.9.4

WordPress V1.9.4? Can you double check that please, WP went from 1.5.2 to 2.0 (in December 26, 2005)

If you look at the bottom of your Dashboard it should show the current version.

Hi, that version appears to be from 2011:

https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.1.4

Our software is compatible with the current releases of WordPress.

Do you have a testing or staging site available to test the update process?
