I went to export registrations to a CSV file this morning and I am unable to download them. I am brought to a 404 page. The reture URL is as follows.

http://lauritawinery.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_support&EVT_ID=3928&return_url=%2F%2Flauritawinery.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Despresso_registrations%26event_id%3D3928%26action%3Ddefault%26default_nonce%3Dad6d761dc1&action=batch_file_create&registrations_report_nonce=061a9c3ca8&return=registrations_report&job_handler=EventEspressoBatchRequest\JobHandlers\RegistrationsReport&redirect_url=%2F%2Flauritawinery.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Despresso_registrations%26event_id%3D3928%26action%3Ddefault%26default_nonce%3Dad6d761dc1&batch_file_create_nonce=06915f76bf

I see we are using the latest version of EE we are also using WordPress 4.4

Hi there,

We recently switched to a batch export system that allows large numbers of registrations to be exported in smaller ‘sections’ and written to a temporary file until all registrations are exported.

It looks like your server setup doesn’t like this feature, do you have FTP access to the server and also access to the servers error logs?

Yes I have access to the FTP as well as the server Error Logs. Do you need any of that information?

Try running an export and then checking within the error log to see if anything is being thrown.

Look within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/ do you see multiple directories there?

Is there a directory called ‘batch_temp_folder’?

If you need access to your registration export quickly, EE can be switched back to the old system by adding:

define( 'EE_USE_OLD_CSV_REPORT_CLASS', true );

Within your wp-config.php file.

That’s not a solution but a quick fix to allow you to export your registrations whilst we investigate this.

I have a VPS and the only way for me to access errors is to SSH into the server and run var/log…unfortunately that is over my head.

Inside /wp-content/uploads/espresso/ I have the following folders:
CSS
Gateways
Logs – there is nothing in here from my errors today.
Templates
Themerollder
Tickets

We do not have a ‘batch_temp_folder’

I used the quick fix for now, why isnt that a permanent solution?

I used the quick fix for now, why isnt that a permanent solution?

Because it puts you back on the old system.

We moved to batch processing because as you have more and more registrations you’ll find the export takes longer and longer, until eventually the query times out and the export fails (it depends on the amount of registrations, questions, server resources etc).

Would you mind if I took a quick look within the admin? I’d like to see if I can see why this is failing.

If that’s ok please send login details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

(Note FTP details are need to switch back from the ‘old’ export system, or if you prefer to do that yourself that’s fine)

I’ve added the information into the form.

I spent some time discussing this with Josh and he pointed out there’s actually nothing wrong with using the old system if its working for you. The reason for the new system was to allow users with large numbers of registrations to work.

I can’t see anything obvious that would cause problems but will request some feedback from the developers on areas to check into.

I’ve set EE to continue to use the old export system on your server.

We will stick to the old system since it is working for us. Thanks for the help!

Hello, we have added compatibility for the new registration CSV report system with PHP 5.3.x in the latest version of Event Espresso 4:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

However, we still recommend using a current version of PHP rather than an old version.
