Dear,

When a subscriber (un)subscribes for one class (it’s a gym) a huge amount of e-mails are sent to the owner.

We’re using
WordPress 4.4.2
Event espresso – Versie: 3.1.37.7.P
Event Espresso – Multi Event Registration – Versie: 1.0.5.p
Event Espresso – Recurring Events – Versie: 1.1.8.p

Any ideas how to resolve this, or to tackle the issue by checking the logs?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best, Marc

Hi there,

How are your users cancelling the registrations?

Do you have any caching enabled on the site?

Does your host have server site caching enabled?

We have seen this previously (although the user was using EE4) when Object caching was enabled on the server. Event Espresso 3 (and 4) just pass the details for the email over to wp_mail() to sent the email, if the server is caching the request it could trigger multiple emails to be sent.

Thanks for your swift response (once again!).

Users cancel via their profile page. We have no caching plug-in installed.
We’re not sure if there’s server side caching. Can you tell by the info from phpinfo?

Thanks for your reponse!

I don’t think so no, I had a look but couldn’t see anything.

I would also highly recommend you remove that information from public view (either remove that file or set up a htaccess file to request a password to view it). You really don’t want that much info about your server setup to be publicly available.

I would recommend contacting your host to see if they have any form of caching enabled and see if they can exclude you site from caching certain pages/objects.
