Hi, we’ve taken over an installation of a site with Event Espresso. There is a function for visitors to register to certain events, but the confirmation e-mail sender contains an HTML entity (&) instead of the ampersand (&) used in the client’s sender name.
The version is 2.0.3 and the site is http://www.emtf.se. We haven’t updated since the auto update unil just now has been saying that the site license wasn’t properly activated, and because our local manual updates changed some of the plug-in behaviour, such as what data is presented in the event list.
The version of EE you are currently running is rather old and there has been plenty of bug-fixes since then which will likely solve your issue.
You mention you have modifications (which will almost certainly need updating to work with the newer versions) are these within ‘wp-content/uploads/espresso’?
The easiest method to updating the templates is using something like diff merge to identify the differences between the old and new files.
The safest way to do this is to copy the live site to a dev server and update EE there, then you will see what fixes/modifications need to made.
