The contents of the file that the webserver can’t read (see previous post from me!) are “deny from all”.

That’s the Apache 2.2 version and on Apache 2.4, it should be “require all denied”.

Hi Ian,

As far as I am aware, there is simply no way for us to reliably identify the apache version across various setups.

apache_get_version() relies on the httpd.conf ServerTokens setting so for production, that’s usually just going to return ‘Apache’ meaning that’s a no go.

I did some searching and found how a couple of other plugins have tried, but it’s not all that reliable so again, isn’t something we can use.

I’ll create a ticket to investigate this further and see what we can do.
