The EE site is being populated by csv import.
User registrations that paid for more than 1 seat are imported as overpaid.
In a previous support ticket we were advised to add a question of number of seats to resolve this. This does nothing except add an additional field.

Our immediate need:
How do we update an existing registrations for 1 registrant, listed as overpaid to 2 seats.

Hi there,

In a previous support ticket we were advised to add a question of number of seats to resolve this. This does nothing except add an additional field.

May I ask, was this via email or on the forums?

As you mentioned, adding a ‘no of seats’ field into CSV and using the importer will simply add the value to a custom field.

How do we update an existing registrations for 1 registrant, listed as overpaid to 2 seats.

So every ‘seat’ is a ticket spot taken?

Every ticket (seat?) purchased in Event Espresso 4 creates an individual registration, so 2 tickets/seats selected would create 2 registrations in EE.

You can’t update a single registration to now become 2 ‘seats’ as we don’t have a feature for 1 registration with X number of tickets assigned to it but rather group registrations with X number of registrations in the group.

You would either need to create individual tickets for the number of tickets and import specific registrations onto that ticket, for example:

1 seat ticket – $10
2 seat ticket – $20
3 seat ticket – $30

And so on, then match up the registrations to each specific ticket so the payment matches.

Or, modify the CSV so that there are X number of rows based on the number of seats. Meaning rather than have 1 CSV for the attendee that has a ‘number of seats’ value of 5, you would need 5 rows for that attendee each specifying the correct ticket payment amount. However, that also means 5 separate registrations and 5 separate transactions will be created currently.

The prior support request was in this venue, not via email.
Your response is excellent, thank you.
