Seeking help related to moving our website and staffing changes, appreciate any advice. We have recently moved our website https://melindavail.com/ to a new developer and hosting company. The old company would not provide any of the details or credentials related to the Event Espresso plugin. Because of that and the need to update the plugin and continue to manage the event scheduled and being sold on the website for Nov 18/19 2016 we purchased new copies and licenses of Event Espresso and the relate Quickbooks payment add-on. When I place the new license in the General Settings page and save it does not clear this information at the top of the page. “An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Either you have entered the wrong key on the Event Espresso General Settings page (EE3+ users) or Your Organization Settings page (EE4+ users) OR you no longer have access to the updates for this plugin. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.” Additionally I cannot access the “Your Organization Settings page (EE4+ users)” which I need to do. |
Hi there, It turns out that the “Your Organization Settings page” is the same page as the General Settings page where you saw the error. We can investigate further with the credentials you sent via the redeem a support token form. |

Thank you. Strangely enough when I clicked on the link I got the dialoge “You do not have permission …” |
I see what’s happening now. Your website is running Event Espresso 3, and the license plan you bought was for Event Espresso 4. You can switch your license plan to Event Espresso 3 by going to your account page, then scroll to the Switch Your Support License: box, and select one of the Event Espresso 3 options there (probably the personal option since that’s all you seem to need). |

When I begin thet effort it provides (in part) this informational – The following addons will be removed from your account if you switch to this plan: EE4 QuickBooks Payment Gateway How do retain QBPayment? |
|
Also – Is there a simple migration to EE4 that would allow us to keep the events in place as they are? |
QBPayment is bundled with EE3 so you do not need an add-on for QBPayment in EE3.
I’m afraid no, while running the migration is fairly simple, the events will not be in exactly the same place as they are now after migration. It’d be best to finish the current events before migrating to Event Espresso 4. |
