How to remove $0 (free) transactions

Hi,

In testing our ee installation, we did test purchases and “almost” purchases, and now trying to clean up the data.

When I go to transactions, I see a bunch of $0.00 free transactions for my event.

I am *thinking* that these were generated when we started the registration, but did not complete through payment. (see Josh’s comments in this thread: https://eventespresso.com/topic/payee-registered-without-paying/)

Is this correct?

Is there any way to remove these from the transaction list?

It’s misleading when I look at this list because under transaction, it shows the date and under that says “Complete”. The total column says “free” and the paid column shows “$0.00”

So it looks like we sold a bunch of events for $0.

Any help in cleaning this up is appreciated.

thanks,
lisa

Hi Lisa,

If you go to Event Espresso > Registrations and trash the registrations associated with the $0 transactions, then go to the Trashed registrations list and permanently delete them, they’ll automatically be removed from the transaction list.

Ok, great – that did it. Thanks!

So, if someone starts a purchase and gets through to payment and then abandons the purchase, EE is going to add them to the contact list, create a $0 transaction and registration. Is that correct? Is there anything I’m missing?

And, if i don’t want my admin area to have lots of bogus information, am i correct to assume I’m going to have to manually remove all of this?

Usually people don’t remove those if someone doesn’t complete the process.

Instead they send a payment reminder that automatically includes a link to pay ( sometimes the payment reminder will even include a small discount, see also:
