How to reconnect link btwn Country and State lists on Reg form

I was asked to add a whole bunch of countries to the dropdown list on our Event Registration form, but most of our customers are in the US, so I used the script from here to make USA the default country. This worked, but it seems to have disconnected the list of states in the drop-down from the country (i think it used to be connected: you choose the country from the country list, then the state dropdown auto-selects the states in that country?)

In other words, now that “US” is the default, there is no easy way to find the US state in the dropdown list. You have to scroll for a long time to find them. A lot of customers are skipping the scroll and just choosing to “Add a new state/province” which is creating a mess.

Can you suggest a script which would skip to the list of states in the country that is selected in the dropdown above?

Hi Hilary,

I can advise to remove the script that sets US to the default. That script should not be used if you need to connect the selected Country to the state field.
