How to make the promo code field required?

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to make the promo code field on my registration form a required field. The event is free, but we want people to add a promo still.

Hi there,

Event Espresso does not have a built in feature that sets the promo code field to be required. However, a developer can use the jQuery .addClass method on the registration form page to add the ‘required’ class to the Promo code input. This way, the validation script that’s already used the page to validate the registration form fields will also validate the promo code field.
