A customer purchased tickets in error, so I deleted the registration, but I could not find a way to deleting the associated transactions.
When I deleted the registration it just showed the associated transactions as free.

I would have thought that if I deleted a registration, it should also delete the associated transaction, but that is not the case.

So, how do I delete these transactions which no longer have associated registrations.

Hi there,

It sounds like you have trashed the registration but not yet permanently deleted it, the transaction will remain until all registrations assigned to it are perm deleted (EE will automatically delete the transaction as the ‘last’ registration is deleted).

Go to Event Espresso -> Registrations.

At the top of the list table you’ll see a Trash view:

https://monosnap.com/file/KI4daG6vcAHvo3QvXPsJ2RsgB1AMIY

(shown above the table are the ‘views’ available, mine has “Trash (27)” as there are 27 regs sitting in the trash)

Click that, find the registration you trashed and hover over it, then click the Delete link shown for it.

That should delete the registration and if its the only registration assigned to the Transaction (it sounds like it is from the above) it will also delete the transaction.

Tony,
You are correct, they were still in the trash. It did not occur to me that you had to empty the trash before they actually disappear.

Transactions remain until perm deleted incase registrations are trashed accidentally. There is no coming back from perm delete so that’s when transactions are removed.

If you have any further issues/questions, just let us know.
