Greetings. I’ve seen reference in the forums to a setting somewhere to allow more than one discount to be applied to a given event. What do we need to set this up. This is a new site. We just upgraded to 3.1.33, but the initial version was just a month old. Add-ons are: Multi Event Registration, Volume Discounts. We also have SSL/HTTPS, but it’s not active We’ve got 7 different discounts that we are using for different marketing purposes. We want these same 7 discounts to apply to many different events. We’ve got the discounts set up correctly. For each event, we’ve selected “Yes” to allow discount codes, and then checked each of the codes we want to apply. However, only one code functions at a time. To be clear we are NOT trying to use more than one discount code in a single transaction. We are trying to allow folks to use ONE of several different codes for the same event. Only one functions at a time. For the most part it seems like the same one code will work for all the classes — but odd things have happened, so I’m not sure that’s correct. Initially, it was discount (database id) #1 that was working. Then I added a test discount, and #1 stopped working, and the new one started working. Then I added a second test discount — but nothing changed. The initial test discount continued to function alone. Any help would be appreciated. |

Hi Tod, First a few questions. You have Volume Discounts active, are you actively using it? I checked your site that we have on file and there is a JS error with Volume Discounts and I think its because it isnt set up correctly. If you are not using it, please deactivate and remove it. Are these issues coming up when someone registers normally or when they use the Add to Cart feature? Are there any error messages? There is a known limitation that will show “Sorry, promotional code XYZ is invalid, expired, or can not be used for the event(s) you are applying it to.” if the user tries to use one code in the cart and then swaps to a different code. This shouldnt occur with standard registrations as the user has to go back and forth to swap codes. I did some testing (without Volume Discounts active) and couldnt create any errors except for that one known limitation. If you could provide some extra data about exactly what the issue is it would help us pinpoint any problems. |

Thanks for the response. One of your comments solved the problem for us. The issue was that only the first code we would use would work until we cleared the session and started over. Going through each code with a fresh session, they all worked properly. For what it’s worth, we are using the Volume Discount function. I’m also not sure you were looking at the right site. I work with a few clients using EE, and just logged in with the first account that came up when posting the initial query. Thanks! |

Hi, I’m glad that it got resolved. We tend to check users sites as it helps give us a clearer idea as to whats going on, so it may be worth logging into the correct account to save any confusion. Cheers! |

Hi Dean, Where is the ‘volume discounts’ add on? I have the multiple events add on. Thanks Ben |

Volume Discounts is found in your account page under Pre Releases. You may need to activate the pre release channel before they are visible. |
