How to add default ticket selector to "1" for all Events.

When you are not supporting multiple tickets for one event, I don’t understand the logic of having a default ticket qty of “0”.
If the customer tries to buy a ticket, they then get an error message, get pissed off and don’t buy a ticket.
I really want the ticket purchase, (the close) to go smoothly for customers. I tried to implement the cumbersome coding (using the posted setup procedures) to implement minimum ticket as 1, but so far it’s not working.
Why not make this a simple selection in the program, rather than having to create all kinds of special plugins, and add extra code for something that is counter intuitive.
From the event attendees perspective, not sure why I’d want to buy a ticket of “0”.

How do I set up my site to change this default to ALL events?
(this did not appear to be a problem with EE3.)

PS> I did not intend to create parallel efforts, so not I also added it to an old discussion on ticket selector.

Hi!

I did not intend to create parallel efforts, so not I also added it to an old discussion on ticket selector.

Thanks for creating your own support post. In the earlier versions of Event Espresso 4, there wasn’t a required option for a ticket or pricing option. This is why the jQuery example was created.

In the current version of Event Espresso 4, you can toggle the required option via the advanced options (gear icon) for a ticket. That will set it to required and automatically select a value of 1.

Be sure to save changes to your event after adjusting the ticket.

Thanks Lorenzo,

I have my ticket set to 1,1,2
http://kellycoevents.com/events/snowbirds-spectacular-i/
When I check the webpage, it still displays qty as ‘0’.
When I click register I get the following error.

An error has occurred:
You need to select a ticket quantity before you can proceed.
EED_Ticket_Selector – process_ticket_selections – 415

The version I’m using is 4.6.4

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks
Ray

Hi, set that ticket to required via the event editor.

Hi Lorenzo,
That worked, and it set ticket is required on form. I’m not sure re the logic of displaying ‘0’ when a customer clicks on register without the required set, but I’m fine with it working the way it is.

Thanks again for your prompt assistance!
Ray
