For example, I ask the parent whether they’ll be sending lunch with their child to the event. If they answer yes, there’s no additional charge. But if they choose no, I need a $25 charge to be added to their ticket because I’ll be feeding their kid.

Hi there,
We don’t have any built in functionality to do this with a question, it’s possible with some custom code and we have examples of doing that you can use a base to create your own or have a developer create it for you.
However, one option you have within EE which may be more manageable right now is to create an additional ticket option and include lunch with that option. So you could have 2 tickets:
Admission = $25
Admission + Lunch = $30
The parent selects whichever ticket they prefer.
