Greetings – My company intends to use EE4 to manage events of up to 50,000 people. I wanted to know if there are any capacity maximums I need to be aware of. Specifically…

1) What is the maximum number of registrants allowed for a single event?

2) What is the maximum number of events that can be created?

3) Do you have any customers that have used EE4 for really large event handling like this? Were there any issues in doing this?

4) Is there anything with EE4 that I need to be aware of in trying to run events of this size?

Thanks in advance – Mark

wrt to 1 & 2, there are no set maximum limits set.

There is a limit to the number of registrations within one transaction, (Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event setting), and that limit is 255. There are also limits to the number of tickets and datetimes within an event, and those will depend on how many inputs (max_input_vars) your web server allows.

The number one factor to consider is hosting. You’ll need a capable web server. If the site is on a shared host or a less-than-ideal-configured VPS you’ll run into issues with a large number of events/registrations, as others have who’ve run into issues related to using cheap hosting with high volume requirements.
