Hi, I have an event coming up and I’ve been looking into how an attendee can make a payment on line (via EE). I looked around and didn’t see anything so I thought I better ask the experts. The way the campaign is set up, each attendee has already made their deposit and it is now time for a payment to be made. I know I can email them a reminder but that doesn’t allow me to create a simple button that takes users to a payment page while either maintaining their login or forcing login. Please advise… |
Hi there, Have these users already registered onto an event and paid once? The reason I ask is Event Espresso does not currently support partial payments so how you process will depend on the current setup. |

Yes, the attendees are already registered. I was told when I spoke with your pre-sales folk this would not be a problem. It is a problem (now) knowing EE does not accept partial payment. My client will be quite upset. I need options now… what do you suggest? |
Hi Dedoceo, When we talked on the telephone I explained a work-around process. You could create a deposit ticket along side the full-payment option for the event, but when they checkout Event Espresso recognized they paid the deposit ticket in full. If someone purchases that ticket the website you will have to modify the payment record to reflect a balance due and send the customer an invoice to complete their payment later (using that button in the payment record screen). Does that make sense? |

Hi Garth, That’s not how I recall the conversation but I guess it’s okay to have different memories. The question now is how do I get past where I’m stuck so we can collect/process more payments. As I understand what you have written, I should create a “Make a Deposit” ticket along side the registration option I now have. When a payment is made I then have to go back in and modify payment record to reflect actual balance due (since we want them to have the ability to make MULTIPLE payments over time, I assume I will have to do this for each “billing cycle” — please elaborate) and then I’ll need to send the customer an invoice with the balance due. I think I’ll have a variation of that… it will be easier if I just created a payment option and then have them make the payment… and then do it again when the next payment is due… Please confirm… |

Also, I’ve set up another payment option, as listed above… Next question is how do I avoid having the attendees enter all the proprietary registration data? This has already been done and I do not want them to have to input the same information each time they come in to make a payment… |

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My client does use PayPal so this is EXCELLENT — Please let me know when that document is ready so I can implement…. You guys ROCK! |
|
The documentation is here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setting-partial-payments-ee/. Let us know if you have any trouble following the instructions. We can use your feedback to make some changes. |

Hi, I played around with the implementation a bit this evening but got stuck so I pulled everything out and will start over in the morning… Will let you know how things go….. |

Please do let us know! It’s still very much a Beta implementation, but we are hoping people find it useful. |
