we have this one web page that shows already created events:
https://www.mikelemoncasting.com/acting-classes/

But we want to create a new second separate web page where we can create a different “group” of events separate from the first web page where it ONLY show the second grouping of events? Please advise, thanks

Hi Jeff,

For this I would use event categories.

Create a category in Event Espresso -> Categories. Say for example ‘Film-Acting’.
Then add the events you with to list into that category. To do this go to the event and on the right hand side you’ll see ‘Event Category’. Tick the tick-box for whichever category, in this case ‘Film-Acting’.

This doesn’t actually separate the events, but allows you to call just those events within another page using the [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=your_category_identifier] or [EVENT_LIST event_category_id=your_category_identifier] shortcode.

Does that help?

Thanks, but what I really need is a way to show
some events

on this page:
https://www.mikelemoncasting.com/acting-classes/

and other totally separate events on another web page – how can we do that?

You can do that using the event categories explained above.

I’ll go through all the steps for the example above (Film Acting)

Go to Event Espresso -> Categories.

Add a new category.
Name = Film Acting.
Unique ID for Category = film-acting
You can alter the other settings/description if you need to.
Submit the Category.

Then go to the events you wish the display separately and add them to the category. (On each event on the right of the screen you’ll see ‘Categories’ and Film Acting will be listed. Click the checkbox next to Film Acting and update the event)

Then you would create another Page which you want to display the separate events on, we’ll again say ‘Film Acting’. Within that Page use the shortcode [EVENT_LIST event_category_id=”film-acting”].

That will then display only the events included within the ‘Film Acting’ category.

Hope that helps 🙂
