Between WP roles & permissions, then EE roles, it is all dancing in my head. I need to give a ticket taker access to check in people at the event. I want them to see the list of attendees. What I do not want them to do is make any changes other than scanning the tickets. Ticket Taker does not have site access other than for this function. Any help in setting this up would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Joan,
You can use Advance Access manager to do this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-access-manager/
You can even skip installing Roles and Permissions and assign the user role as “admin” but remove all WP capabilities from that account.
