Hidden events for users with URL (and code)

We have a client that need to have some events created. The twist is these events need to be hidden from the main registration events listing page. The user will only be able to access the event with a specific URL. There will be a code that they can enter in order to receive the class for free.

Is there a way to hide events from the espresso table we have setup?

Hi Tony,

There isn’t a way to completely block out people from accessing events, unless you use the member’s only option with the WP User Integration add-on. You can however put the events in categories and use the shortcodes to only display the categories of events that you choose.

Shortcode documentation here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/

OK, that makes sense. Thank you.
The other question I have:
Is there a way to keep those specific events off the main listing of events page (Events Registration page)? Do you know if there has already been a question on how to hide those specific ones from the main listing?

HI Tony,

If you want certain events excluded from the event list then you’ll want to make your event list shortcode more specific. You could use a category shortcode(s) for the categories you want public and then another category for the ones you want private. Does that make sense?

Here is the documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#event-list
