Hi there,

Can you check to see if WordPress itself will send an email outside of an Event Espresso function? For example you can use this plugin to test if emails get sent from your email server:

I checked to see if WordPress is sending emails using the suggested plugin. I sent a test email to both Heather and myself. Neither of us got it. Activating the SMTP WP email plugin that we already had doesn’t seem to change or help either.

Hi Christopher,

If the emails are not being received when using the Check Email plugin, then the issue lies with the server.

There’s two choices (now that the WP SMTP plugin has proven ineffective):

1) Contact your host and see if they can pinpoint and resolve the issue

2) Try a service like Mandrill or Postmarkapp, which effectively take over sending emails. These are paid for services, though Mandrill has a generous free option (12,000 mails a month I believe).
