I need someone to point me to the code to modify to enable the following customizations. Note that I am using event espresso to create a website for class registrations. ISSUE ONE: Each class occurs for several days (e.g. every Monday for 10 weeks). I’m using recurring events with alternate registration URL to enable this. I can create the event no problem, but in the event listing, I will see the class listed 10 times, one for every day. This is going to confuse the people registering. What I would like instead is to list each class ONCE with the start date omitted (I’ll put the date information in the description.) Which files do I need to modify? ISSUE TWO: For each event/class that I offer, I want to automatically generate a post. This is a built-in feature. However, where is the code that I need to modify? Thanks for your help. WP Version: 3.4.2

Hello, 1) If the class runs over a 10 week period then perhaps a Recurring Event isn’t the best way to handle it as it will create an event for each day, which the plugin treats as a separate event. You would be better to have the event as a single instance but to change the event start / end dates to cover the 10 weeks. 2) To create a post, in the individual event scroll down to the bottom of the event editor and there is a box called Create a Post. in That box make sure the “Add/Update post for this event?” is set to yes and update or publish the event. |

Hi Dean, Thanks for your reply. 1) As I understand it, if I put the start and end dates to cover the 10 weeks, then in the calendar, it will appear as a single contiguous block. This can be confusing since the class is only going to be held every Monday, not every day of the week. What I want is a class that starts on one day, say Monday, and repeats every week on Monday (and only Monday) for 10 weeks. It should show up on the Calendar every Monday and only Monday. How do I do this? 2) I am aware of this box and I’ve used it. However, I want to customize the information that shows up in that post. How can I customize the information that is posted? (I think I need to modify some templates, but I’m not sure.) Thank again. |

You can use the recurring events to make individual events for each class, but then use the “alternate registration page” entry to direct clicks on all events except for the first one to the registration page of the first event in the series. |

Thank Sidney. I think that answers my first question, my second question is still unanswered: ISSUE TWO: For each event/class that I offer, I know that EE can generate a post automatically. That is a great feature. However, I want to modify the contents of the post that is generated. How can I modify the contents of the post that is generated? |

Once you’ve generated the post, you can find it in the WordPress Posts section. You should be able to edit it there. |
