Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to apply the surcharge after the promotion is applied.
I.E. Scenario: On a $100 ticket, a 5% percent surcharge is charged, with a $1.50 dollar surcharge. Promotion would be like a $5 off code.
Our site uses promotions actively as incentives for our customers.
We would like however for the promotion to be applied first, then the percent and dollar surcharge– just like the tax surcharge, except that we do not collect any taxes. I understand maybe it would be possible to use the tax as the percent surcharge, but I would have to change the language file text of “tax” or something (not sure how to find that)
I understand this may not be possible at the moment, but is there a workaround or a way to add this to the next development feature request? I think this is a very common way of adding surcharges on, and promotions should be applied first, then surcharges and such after.
So we would like it that it would be in the following order: $100 – $5 promo code = $95 then apply the 5% percent surcharge, and $1.50 dollar surcharge = $101.25
Currently it only allows the opposite, which is surcharges first, then promo discount. I know the price difference is slight, but it is possible, that’d be great.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I checked into this and there really isn’t a way to change the order of applications for promotional discounts. I can put in a feature request, but I’m not sure whether adding this sort of thing will require a complete refactor of Event Espresso 4’s pricing module. If it would require a complete refactor, then it’s not something that will be taken on right away.
