Is it possible to have the registration page for an event be the main page on the website? I’m trying to use EE specifically for registration and I was wondering if it’s possible to have the registration serve as the index page.

Hi David,

You can set your event list page to be the front page in WordPress admin –> Settings –> Reading.

If you are trying to do this for a specific event, then you can create a WordPress page and add a shortcode for this event and save changes.

You’ll then be able to set that new page as the front page in WordPress admin –> Settings –> Reading.

Thank you Lorenzo,

I may be missing something but I am unable to do that and have the registration page (which is what I would really like). I’d like to circumvent having to press the “Register Now” button and go straight to the registration page. Using the shortcode shows the ticket information and has this button but I’d like to have the registration page up right away.

Is this possible?

Hello,

It looks like you are on EE4. My prior comments were for EE3.

You would need to click on the register button to start the registration process. The registration information is temporarily stored in something called a PHP session. It starts when you start the registration process and expires after a few hours or after you finish the registration process.

I think you are also running into the 0 value on the ticket selector. We have a tutorial here that will set it to 1: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-default-value-1-ticket-selector/

You could create a WordPress page and add a picture and description and then the ticket selector for this event:

[ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=”your_event_id”]

Be sure to publish the page.

Then set this WP page to be the front page through WordPress reading settings. If you also follow the tutorial above, then your attendees will be able to begin registration by clicking on the register now button.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Lorenzo – I’ll create a link for the users to see the event on a splash page.
