If you’ve checked your account page, you may have noticed that there’s an update to the Social Coupons add-on (formerly known as Groupon Integration). If you have not received an update notification in your dashboard, here’s how to set up automatic updates. This should be a one-time fix, once it’s done, it’s done, and we’ll be adding checks in the future to try to resolve this without you having to do anything. For now, here’s the resolution to get automatic updates working:
1- Deactivate and delete the current Groupon Integration add-on. Download the new version from your account page and install that with the plugin uploader. The issue has been resolved in the current package, so what you download from your account page should allow automatic updates.
OR
2- FTP into your site. In your /wp-content/plugins directory, rename espresso-groupons (or espresso-groupons.1.5.2 or whatever version you may have) to espresso-groupon (note the singular vs. plural Groupon). You’ll need to re-activate the plugin after doing this because the plugin will automatically de-activate once you change the folder name. If updates do not show up, re-save your Event Espresso General Settings page. If they still do not show up or you receive an invalid license key message, you may request a key reset and link to this thread in your notes. (You don’t need to purchase a reset if you link to this thread, just put your info, click Continue to Purchase, and then you can close the window.)
