Hi, I’ve done some searching here for an answer to this question, but I’m just getting more confused… We are registering people for a conference, and would like to allow group registrations. The registration price depends on whether the registrant is a member, student, etc., so there are several pricing levels. It’s possible that a member may register themself and a spouse, for example. When I test with that configuration, the price for the for the primary attendee is applied to both attendees, even though the second attendee is supposed to be charged a different price. To complicate things, I’m also using the Espresso Price Modifier plugin to offer an optional lunch. The setting for the primary attendee is also applied to the second attendee, even though a lunch is chosen for one and not the other. So… Is there a way to fix this? I wanted to turn group registration on both as a convenience for our attendees and as a solution to my previous question (see https://eventespresso.com/topic/cant-register-more-than-one-person-from-the-same-computer/). Here is my info: I turned group registrations off, since the registration is live and we don’t want to charge attendees the wrong price. Thanks! |
I’m afraid Event Espresso doesn’t have the feature set to make this happen. If you were not using the Price Modifier you could use the Multi Event Registration add-on and set up your event registration to go through the cart as detailed in this guide: The limiting factor here is price modifier add-on isn’t compatible with Multi Event Registration though. In order to use the price modifier and offer different ticket price levels at the same time the registrations will need to go through separate transactions. |

Thanks for the info. Since I don’t own the Multi Event Registration plugin, I can’t view the link you sent. Are there any plans to make the Price Modifier and Multi Event Registration plugins work together? Another feature I don’t think you support, but I see in the forums has been requested for years is the conditional questions. We could really use this, too. Will that feature ever make it into Event Espresso? Thanks! |
Currently there are no immediate plans because the bulk of the development work going on is the complete re-write of Event Espresso which will be released as Event Espresso 4. Once this is done then new features like conditional questions and more flexible price modifier features can be planned in future development cycles. |

Huh. It seems like those two features are so essential that they should be included in a sparkly new whole-number version. I saw a question from 2011 where someone was asking about conditional questions and the reply was that it might be worked on for (what would have been) the next release. So, I’m hoping these features will be added ASAP if they can’t be added in as new features for the EE4 release. Thanks! |
Hi Lucinda, It might seem that way, but it isn’t planned. We have hundreds of feature requests that we receive and while it would be awesome if we could, we cannot develop all of them at once. One of the big changes coming in 4.x is that group registrations will have multiple price/multiple quantity ticket selections with no need for using the Multi Event Registration add-on. This will help with your use case. For the conditional questions you might be interested in using a conditional question add-on that was developed by another developer that can be downloaded here: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2011/11/conditional-questions/comment-page-1/#comment-21370 that was community supported: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2011/11/conditional-questions/comment-page-1/#comment-21395 |

Excellent! Thanks for the info. I’m looking forward to seeing the new 4.x release. Thanks! |
