On this page ( http://carrickinstitute.com/research/ ), I receive the error below.. What makes this unusual is that there are no EE4 shortcodes anywhere on the page.. Anybody know what could be going on? |
What could be going on is the page had the short code on it at one time. Event Espresso actually stores some post short code tracking as WordPress options. What you can do is go to edit that page, hit Update, and that should refresh the post short code tracking. |

I made a minor edit, republished the page and still get the same error. Anything else I can try? |
|
I installed the EE4 grid plugin and then it the error went away.. but when I deactivated the plugin, it returned. Again, the shortcodes are not actually on the page.. so it has me stumped! |
Activate the Grid plugin. Edit the page and add – Update the page. View the page and check that content now loads. Edit the page once again and remove the shortcode again, update. Now de-activate the plugin again, does the error show now? |

I put in the shortcode, activated the plugin, and the error went away. I de-activated the plugin, took out the shortcode, and then error came back. I left the shortcode out, re-activated the plugin, and the error went away again. It seems odd that I need to keep the plugin activated to make the error go away when the shortcode is not even on the page. Any more ideas? |
A few points to keep in mind are 1) You’ll only see the error if you’re logged in as admin. 2) Event Espresso’s post short code tracking saves/removes the Page ID to the database, while the add-on is activated. So if you remove the short code from the page while the add-on is deactivated, it may still be tracked. To avoid this, you remove the short code from the page while that add-on is still activated. |

Tried it all again, making sure to remove the shortcode while the plugin was still activated. Unfortunately, I still received the same error. As long as the plugin is activated, I don’t get the error, but still get the error when it’s not activated even though the shortcode is no longer on the page. |
You also will not see this error when logged out of the site, with the plugin not activated. |

I’m still logged into the site (always am really), and still getting the error. Only way to not get the error it seems is to leave the plugin activated. I don’t really like this as the solution since I have no plans of using the grid template plugin because we allow multiple event registrations. |
Of course you will. Anyone logged out of the website will not see the error though. |
