Google map is not showing up

There is a gray box displayed at the end of our event instead of a Google map. I’ve checked that the address is correct under Venues. Can you help?

Hi there,

Google maps is no longer free and you need an API from them for it to work.

On your venue page in Chrome Dev Tools -> Console you can see this error:

Geocoding Service: You must use an API key to authenticate each request to Google Maps Platform APIs. For additional information, please refer to http://g.co/dev/maps-no-account

If you go to Event Espresso -> Venues -> Google Maps.

You’ll see a link to get your key using your Google account.

Click that link, make sure you are logging into the correct google account and enable Google maps, then add your key into Event Espresso.

That should fix the Google maps.
