When trying to add a Google Maps API Key under Venues >> Google Maps using the click here to get an API key link, receiving this error in the Google Console, “The link you followed was not configured correctly. Required URL parameter apiid is missing.

Hi there,

It looks like Google no longer allow for the URL format they did previously.

This is the link:

https://console.developers.google.com/flows/enableapi?apiid=maps_backend,geocoding_backend,directions_backend,distance_matrix_backend,elevation_backend,static_maps_backend&keyType=CLIENT_SIDE&reusekey=true

Note apiid=... so apiid is indeed set.

Ok, we’ll need to work out what they’ve changed to get a link as above working, but in the meantime, what point are you up to with your Google Account?

Do you already have an account? Project? Bill account attached to the project?

If not, start here: https://developers.google.com/maps/get-started#create-project

Theres a video that walks you through what is needed there.

Google error in the browser is saying the Billing is not enabled for the key, but it is. Was hoping the link would take me directly to the current key so I can troubleshoot.

Oh, no, we can’t take you directly.

You need to log into your google account then go to:

https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials

Select the correct project in the dropdown at the top and work through to find the account/project the key is assigned to.
