"Goes on Sale" tickets still showing after tickets go live – on ios phones only

Because of Covid-19 and the way we have run our event system, we recently changed all events so that tickets were only available for sale 10 days before the event (in an attempt to reduce refunds as the UK goes through varrious lockdowns).

The first event became live for purchase on the 1st November. On most tested devices the words “Goes on Sale” disappeared and Android and PC users were able to purchase, whilst up to date Apple iPhones and iPads still showed the “Goes on Sale”

I have checked functionality and cannot see any issues.

Can you offer any advice as all events are now scheduled like this until February 2021?

Hi there,

Do you have any caching plugins enabled on the site?

Can you link me to an event this is happening on so I can take a look?

Crazy, I just went to send a link, thought I would check first on iPad and wife’s iPhone, all now working correctly. Cacheing is enabled but always cleared after changes! Sometime between sending the Support ticket and now, all cleared itself!

I will closely monitor the future events…

An example of a correctly working link ….

The above does sound like a caching issue and looking at your site I can see the event page was generated on 02-11-20 and then cached:

!-- WP Fastest Cache file was created in 3.6592869758606 seconds, on 02-11-20 21:54:16 --

Cacheing is enabled but always cleared after changes!

That’s great, but tickets coming ‘on sales’ or ‘out of sale’ dynamically wouldn’t be classed as a change that would clear the cache. So if the page was cached before the tickets went on sales that cached page will still show them as unavailable until the caches were cleared again.

I’m not sure why that would only affect iOS users without being able to see the issue itself as that’s a little odd!

I’m glad it’s working right now and please do let me know if happens again.
